Some people will opt for various lotions that help skin stay smooth and wrinkle free. Others favor cosmetics to hide or cover over signs of aging. While still others will select "nip and tuck" operations to remove wrinkled skin and keep looking youthful.
But, there are basic lifestyle habits that will help promote a youthful look. Of course we know to eat right and get regular exercise. These habits provide the body with the proper fuel and help keep the metabolism up so the fuel is burned efficiently.
But, there are a couple of other habits you should also implement in your life. While these are not always easy with today's hectic lives, these anti-aging habits will go a long way toward keeping your looking youthful.
First, get plenty of sleep. The most basic beauty treatment is to get your "beauty sleep" every night. Sleeping well help guarantee that you will be relaxed, less stressed out, and most of all, feeling better naturally. The habit of getting a full night's sleep will help your body rebuild and release natural anti-oxidants. This repairs your skin and gets it prepared for another day. Repair is a requirement for healthy skill and optimal appearance.
Second, avoid too much exposure to the sun. While exposure to the sun is healthful, too much exposure is harmful. Sunburn causes damage to the top layers of the skin. And, as you age, repairs take longer and damage more often become permanent.
If excess exposure to the sun is unavoidable, wear sunscreen on exposed areas of your skin. This will prevent the sun's ultra violet rays from penetrating and damaging your skin. Sun exposure is the main culprit making you look older than you are. If you constantly suffer excess exposure to the sun you'll have have harsher and deeper wrinkles. The damage from years of excess exposure to the sun is often irreversable.
So, the best long term anti-aging habits are simply to get the right amount of sleep and don't overdue your exposure to the sun. Stay healthy and youthful.
